Our current economic situation is untenable. Families are struggling with out-of-control prices on everyday necessities. Scott took action in the State House by voting to cut the state income tax by $1.1 billion, double the homestead exemption from $2000 to $4000 for the first time since 1978, and increase the child tax deduction by $1000 per child. Scott will keep working to find relief for hardworking Georgians.
Scott got results for Georgia students and families. As Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Education and a leading advocate for school choice in the House, Scott worked tirelessly to get landmark school voucher legislation passed in the General Assembly. Scott’s commitment to our schools has already advanced the cause of education in Georgia, and he’ll continue to deliver results for students, parents, and teachers.
Our first responders need all the support they can get from us. Scott has always stood strong with law enforcement, which is why he pushed to raise pay for state law enforcement, hire more state law enforcement officers, expand the list of crimes that require cash bail to avoid a revolving door justice system like in some states and major cities, and establish a commission to hold rogue prosecutors accountable so that Georgians can be confident that our laws are being enforced.
Scott Hilton has been a dependable advocate in the State House on issues that affect women. His leadership helped lead to increased funding for women’s health to address maternal mortality, new legislation to provide more support for pregnant mothers, extended paid parental leave, and protection of IVF access in Georgia. We can count on Scott to be a reliable partner for women.
